Shipping a car to or from Phoenix
One of the easiest metros in the Southwest to ship into or out of — high carrier traffic on I-10 and I-17 means faster pickups and competitive pricing.
Phoenix sits at the crossroads of two major interstates — I-10, the primary east–west corridor connecting Los Angeles to Houston and the Southeast, and I-17, the north–south route toward Flagstaff and the I-40 corridor. That heavy through-traffic means carriers are constantly moving in and out of the Valley, which generally translates to shorter wait times and better rates than isolated markets. At Navi Auto Transport, we run Phoenix lanes year-round and handle the entire move door-to-door — no terminal drop-offs.
Demand in Phoenix is heavily shaped by snowbird season. From roughly October through April, vehicles flow into the Valley as seasonal residents arrive from the Northeast and Midwest, then back out in spring. If you're shipping during those windows, book 1–2 weeks ahead — same-week pickups get harder when seasonal demand spikes. We move every vehicle type on these lanes, from standard sedans on open transport to high-value and classic cars on enclosed carriers.

Scottsdale, Mesa and East Valley car shipping
The Valley is not one shipping market. What you own and where you park it change the carrier, the price and the lead time.
Scottsdale and Paradise Valley skew heavily toward vehicles that shouldn't ride on an open deck — exotics, low-clearance sports cars, restored classics and collector inventory. That drives enclosed transport demand well above the metro average, and it concentrates hard in January, when Scottsdale's collector-auction week pulls high-value cars into and out of the Valley from across the country. Enclosed capacity tightens weeks in advance of that window. Access is the other Scottsdale constraint: gated communities, HOA rules that bar commercial rigs, and the narrow older blocks around Old Town mean a full-size carrier often can't reach the door, and your driver will set a meeting point a few minutes away.
Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler and Tempe are the opposite profile — mostly standard vehicles on open carriers, with the easiest truck access in the metro thanks to wide arterials and newer street layouts. Tempe adds a distinct rhythm of its own: the university calendar. Inbound student vehicles cluster in August and outbound in May, and those two months book out faster than anything else on the East Valley side. Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear and Avondale sit on the West Valley side of the loop, close to the I-10 corridor, which usually means quick pickup on westbound lanes to Southern California.
Every one of these is priced as a Phoenix-metro move — there is no surcharge for a Scottsdale or Mesa address over a central Phoenix one. Shipping from elsewhere in the state? See the Arizona auto transport hub.
Auction and salvage vehicle transport in Phoenix
Phoenix is one of the largest auction markets in the Southwest — and auction pickups run on a clock most buyers don't expect.
The major salvage and dealer auction operators all run yards in the Phoenix metro, and between them they move a very large volume of vehicles that need transport out within days of the hammer falling. If you have just won a car here, the sequence that matters is short: get us the yard location, the lot or stock number and your buyer ID, and we assign a carrier already cleared to enter that facility. Carriers cannot collect without gate authorisation, which is the single most common reason an auction pickup slips.
Storage fees are the real cost risk. The free storage window at most yards is measured in days, not weeks, and daily charges begin the moment it lapses — they can quietly exceed the cost of the transport itself on a slow week. Book the move when you win the vehicle, not when the paperwork clears. The second thing to get right is condition: a large share of salvage lots don't start, steer or roll, and those need a winch-equipped carrier, which typically adds $150–$350. Tell us the condition honestly at booking — a truck that arrives and can't load is a wasted pickup slot and a fresh day of storage.
Phoenix's carrier density works in your favour here: winch-capable trucks are available year-round, and out of the Valley they're rarely more than a day or two out. Full process and pricing on our auction car shipping page.
