The honest take
Why most car shipping brokers can't be trusted
The industry runs on artificially low quotes, hidden booking deposits, and a race-to-the-bottom carrier marketplace — and customers pay for it.
Most broker websites read identically: "FMCSA licensed," "fully insured," "thousands of happy customers." That copy is meaningless because every legitimate broker can claim it. None of it tells you what actually happens after you submit your phone number.
Here's what usually happens. The broker generates a low quote to beat competitors. You book. They post your shipment to a carrier marketplace where dispatchers bid on it. Carriers won't take the low rate. Days pass. Then the broker calls: they need another $200–$400 to get a truck. Your car hasn't moved, your dates have slipped, and you either pay or start over. The problem isn't that carrier rates move — they do. It's that you find out when you have no leverage left.
This page exists to explain what we do differently — concretely, with proof points other brokers can't or won't provide. We're not asking you to take our word for it. We're showing the receipts — starting with our live car shipping performance stats, the real delivery data behind every number on this page. For the full picture of how we operate as a licensed broker, see our auto transport services overview.

FAQ
Why Navi — your questions answered
Real questions customers ask before choosing Navi over other brokers.
Is Navi Auto Transport legit?
Yes. Navi Auto Transport is fully licensed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under MC# 1646663 and USDOT# 4248916. The license is publicly verifiable at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov. We carry the FMCSA-required broker bond, work only with insured carriers, and are BBB-accredited at our Brookfield, WI headquarters.
Why is Navi better than other big auto transport brokers?
Three concrete differences: (1) Our pricing engine quotes against live carrier lane rates, not industry averages, so most quotes hold through delivery. (2) Zero upfront payment — you pay only when a vetted carrier is dispatched, not at booking. (3) Our founder Ivan Karakostov is named, accessible, and personally accountable on every page of the site — most large brokers hide ownership behind a corporate wall.
Is Navi a broker or a carrier?
Navi is a licensed broker. We don't own trucks — we coordinate shipments with a vetted network of 20,000+ insured carriers across the U.S. Brokers are the right model for nationwide coverage because no single carrier covers every route. The difference between Navi and other brokers is how we vet carriers (95%+ review score required) and how we price (live rates, not averages).
What does Forbes Advisor #2 actually mean?
Forbes Advisor independently evaluates car shipping companies on pricing transparency, insurance coverage, customer ratings, service options, and broker authority. Their methodology is published. Navi Auto Transport currently holds the #2 position with a 9.8/10 score in their "Best Car Shipping Companies" list. You can view the full list and methodology on the Forbes Advisor website directly.
Does Navi require an upfront payment or deposit?
No. Navi requires zero upfront payment. You don't pay anything when you book — only when a vetted carrier is confirmed and dispatched to pick up your vehicle. Many other brokers require a $100–$300 booking deposit before they'll even search for a carrier. We don't.
What happens if the price changes after I book?
You hear from us first — nothing changes without your explicit approval. We quote from live carrier rates on your route, so most shipments dispatch at the booked price. If the carrier market does move on your lane, we contact you right away with the revised rate. You can approve it, say no and keep your booked price while we keep working to find a carrier at it (that can take a few extra days), or cancel free of charge any time before dispatch.
How does Navi vet carriers?
Every carrier we assign meets four criteria: minimum 95% positive review score, current FMCSA operating authority, valid cargo insurance verified before pickup, and a clean safety record on file with the federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Carriers that fall below our standards are removed from our network. We don't post shipments to public load boards where any FMCSA-authorized driver can bid. See the full breakdown of how we select and vet every carrier.
Who is the founder of Navi Auto Transport?
Navi Auto Transport was founded by Ivan Karakostov, who serves as CEO. Ivan has 10+ years of auto transport industry experience and is personally accountable for the pricing engine, carrier vetting criteria, and dispatch operations behind every shipment. His full bio, contact information, and team are public on the team page.
Will I get spam calls after submitting a quote request?
No. We don't sell leads to other brokers or aggregators. Submitting our quote form results in a response from Navi only, and only when you ask for it. Our instant calculator texts your quote to you, so no one has to call you to see a price. If you've received 20+ calls within a day of requesting a car shipping quote elsewhere, that's because the broker monetized your contact info.
